Chickens hen house & Foxes
« on: May 06, 2012, 18:06 »
I have in the past had foxes break in to the coop, ripping the hinges off, and I noticed they also went for the hinges when I rebuilt it (there are lots of scratch marks on the wood where the hinges are) neighbour cam round the other day, and she has lost all her chickens to foxes, guess what, they broke the hinges off her coop, so check your hinges, they know its a vulnerable spot
If Its Not Growing... Its Dead.

Checked the hinges on our coops and they are all inset into the door frame and door (like a house door).  So I don't think the fox would be able to get at mine.  ;)

We replaced ours last week as they were coming loose!  Thank goodness for that
The glass is neither half empty or half full - it is simply the incorrect size! Find a new glass!

Have you inset them between the frame and the door so that the fox has no chance of clawing at them?

Yes, fortunately! We have never seen a fox here but you can never be too careful!
