They take their time with female flowers, as several others have commented this season  ;) :)

Don't worry my courgettes are just as small as fatbelly's.
The warm weather we have been promised should perk them up

Cheers HH

Our courgettes are about 18" across Nutty, and still no flowers at all!

We normally have some flowers about now, but somehow, they're just not showing - other than very tight buds...

Been there before though, so not worried, and I hope you're not too!

You are better with plants that get some size before flowering. They will have got their roots down and will yield better later on.

My courgette plants are rather small at the moment, probably about the size of an average primrose, so you can imagine my surprise to find at least 6 tiny courgette fruits on each plant!!  They are coming on very well and are now the size of baby courgettes found in supermarkets!!  I was very surprised considering the size of the plants.......so there is hope for all the small plants out there........on the other hand my butternut squash are doing zilch!

Mine were looking pretty glum until a week ago, but they seem to have perked up now with a few healthy looking leaves and even some female flowers :) A bit of warmth in the next fews days and they should romp away. Just wish I'd put a cloche over them when I planted them.

It is not to late to add a cloche now

i'm not too worried, there's loads of flowers on them, having a closer look tonight i think we have a baby courgette, or another stem growing! the plants are massive, and have just decided to remove cloches etc as they are getting squised into funny shapes, so fingers crossed we have something!

I planted a few in the middle of May, they struggled for a bit, but now have several leaves and lots of flower buds - can't wait!

Also planted some more out (I love courgette!) a couple of weeks ago - they're looking much healthier.
