Have almost got it together, should be right by the weekend fingers crossed.  Ratio instructions says gasoline 25 / oil 1.  Can anyone recommend any good value gas and oil brands?

Any unleaded petrol, any 2 stroke oil. Machine makers like Stihl produce oil, but it is much more expensive than other brands and not necessarily better.

200ml oil to 5000ml petrol.
As Argylie says, any Two stroke oil recomended for air cooled engines  (Don't use marine two stroke) and any-brand petrol.

I bought a Ryobi RBC30SESA 30cc Brush Cutter Easy Start came with both trimmer and metal bushcutter head.  Would advise getting a saftey set (visor, ear defenders and gloves) as it is pretty loud and getting a bit of nettle in the eye isn't the best!  Got my lot from Ryobi-direct.com

Got to say it did the job really well, easy to start and very simple to use.  It is part of the Expand-it range so I can interchange the heads.  I went for the Ryobi compared to the others as there is a rotivator attachment which looks appealing later down the line!

if you have nettles long trousers are a must, your legs can be splattered with grass and nettle mush. I always need a bath after strimming.
