How do you teach a 5 year old horse to walk on with the headcollor on? He will happily have a head collar on but how do i get him to walk on it?

You need to reach him what walk on means first. If you get a long schooling whip, stand at his shoulder and clearly say "walk on" while tickling him behind his girth and be ready to walk on and praise. Repeat till it becomes second nature and he knows what you want by body language. Just be careful you don't stand in front of him, or try to pull him.....he'll win a tug-o-war! Only you will know how firm you need to be with the whip, timing is important.

Is this the one who has been living in a herd? If so, how are you getting on?
