Title: Introducing ASBO 1, 2 and 3

Finally got my 3 chickens from Shropshire, plenty of people picking ex batts up which was good to see  :D

Anyway got them back safely and let the loose in my well prepared chicken run..........and they have trashed the place in less than 3 hours :wacko: Wasnt sure if they would go straight into the coop, but oh yes lets go straight in and trash that aswell.

Anyway back to do some chicken observing, should be back about, oh eightish 8)

Chickens are more destructive than their innocent little faces would like us to believe!  My lot dig holes that would undermine the foundations on a skyscraper.  I believe that is what happened to the leaning tower of Pisa.

I nearly went over last night slipping into a hole in the big run, to a ripple of chucking noises from the coop.  I swear the little wotsits were laughing at me  ::)  :lol:

Yes holes ::) I think they are recreating something from world war one. Never seen so many holes. Luckily they are confined to their run. I am already seeing some of the mannerisms......quite amusing.

I have left them to settle in for a couple of days, although I have had plenty of visitors wanting to see them and I have to say for ex-batts they are very sociable. The have followed next doors kids around the run.

Eating and drinking very nicely although they dont seem to like the ex-batt crumb much, plenty of digging and foriaging around. Put themselves to bed at 7.45 both nights, so that was a relief not having to chase them round the run.

Its funny watching them listening and watching the birds that fly over. I did have a set to do this morning though as they were coming out of the coop, and I think they saw a cat..............noisy, sounded more like ducks!

They are certainly far from the placid looking girls one imagines rosey contentedly around the place.

They do a great excavation job ( don't think of letting them near your garden ) and can turn into a hoard of savages as I witnessed when they attacked and killed an unsuspecting crow. I'm rather surprised any fox will take them on.

They deserve to do a bit of digging after being stuck in a horrible cage all their lives so far  :D

Lucky girls - what a retirement pad you have provided for them :)
