Main Crop Potatoes
« on: July 26, 2010, 07:32 »
My main crop potatoes, Blue Belle, have flowered, set fruit and now leaves are dying off all in 13 weeks.  What should I do?

Leave em!

let the tops die down, then clear the tops off, harvest the spuds a week or so later on a nice dry day. Leave them on the surface for an hour or two (not days, as they will go green) so they dry off nicely, then put them in containers that let the air circulate (I use Hessian sacks) and keep in a cool dry place.
