hi there all am thinking of  making some wine is there a good kit that i could use to start me off?

Hi Lisa,

Pop down to your local homebrew shop and they will usually carry at least three ranges of wine kit, from chap and cheerful (though not always that tasty) to good, to excellent (expensive). The shop will advise what's best for your tastes.

Personally, I found Beaverdale kits reasonable, nice to drink and really easy to use (though you will need to purchase (or obtain of Freecycle) a demijohn, airlock, hydrometer, syphon, funnel, bottles, corks etc.

It might also be worth having a look on eBay, wher people sell basic kits with all the gear you'll need that will give you an idea of the process, whilst not costing too much.

Once you've made your first couple of kits, get one of CJJ Berry's books and try 'country' wines - it's great fun!  :D

Hi, Scabs is right about CJJ Berry -  it's a wine makers bible! Country wines are easy - have a go!  :D

Hi, i know i've mailed you but seeing this thread i thought i'd reply. You can shop online i use a site ( Art of Brewing ) and have found them excelent, with a huge range of products.
