This is what it was like just to get me going with temp broken slabs..

That looks great Gavin --- you just need some sides to the peak to keep the wind off when you are sittin there in the rain, having a cuppa  :D

I took the dog for a walk up to the allotment yesterday and did a bit of weeding round my winter onions and garlic (both are coming on well :) ). Looked at all the rest of the work i need to do to make my 3 other beds ready for planting, got depressed, came home.

Yesterday I managed a 20 minute planning trip down the new lottie!  We measured where I'd like a raised bed for some asparagus, allocated a section for the little darlings to keep them occupied, and weighed up what to do with the composter!

So excited about my new plot can't wait to get growing!

Still got to get to the plot - what with trips to the hospital with my MIL and the weatherits a good few weeks since I got to the plot, but I do theoretically have more time now, so hopefully when the weather clears I will be able to get there - then when it dries I may get something done.

Popped down on the way home from work (early so it was still light) to check that the wind had not taken my shed or minitunnel away.

Mine were still where they should be but plenty were damaged or in shreds  :( :(

Weeded around my broad beans & garlic and pulled up some leeks to bring home.  Sprinkled some fish, bone & blood on the ground where I plan to plant some shallots in a few weeks.

Too wet and stormy still to do any real gardening. Dug a two feet deep hole to bury my son and daughter in law's deceased cat

Thanks - have done so!  By the way - when layering the manure on the ground - do you do anything particular to it or just chuck it on top?  Our site gets manure delivered so i've been keeping my eye out for some to arrive - but wouldn't know what to do with it! lol :tongue2:
