How long will a chicken produce an egg after its laid one? She's only been laying for a week, just wondered how long it takes

Hi Shazzer! I see you are from Bristol too!
A hen takes around 25hours to lay just one egg amazing isn't it! How often she will lay largely depends on age and breed - as a general rule the new hybrids can lay around 5 -6 eggs per week in their first season. Pure breeds don't lay as often - but may have a longer laying lifespan.
