The thermometer on the south facing wall at the lottie said 29degC at midday.  My car thermometer (parked under a tree) was a mere 24.5.  Either's a minor miracle!

I cut the front lawn at 5pm and then at 7pm went out to water the flower bed.  The temperature drop was noticable, it had gone down a lot.  We have 'battened' down the hatches, as nobody agrees  whether the thunderstorms are tonight, tomorrow or whenever(if ever).

We got lucky! A noisy thunderstorm woke me at 5am and it was truly bucketing down. So this morning has been sunny but a wee bit cooler, it's back up to 28C now though!

Thunderstorm in the early hours.  Now it's a gorgeous summer day, gentle breeze and soft sunshine.

Small shower this morning and now blazing hot again.

The rain and thunderstorm completely by-passed us.  Scorching day yesterday and when we set off for work at 8am this morning really sunny.  Half way across the Island we met a wall of sea mist and the whole of the West Wight was covered,  Felt chilly and damp all morning.  As we drove eastwards to get back home it got brighter and warmer and now we're home sitting out in the sunshine.  The Island's weather doesn't surprise me any more.

20c   Wind SW, have had to take the door curtain down, as very blowy.    A few hours rain forecast for tomorrow.    Erm, we'll see.

Some very loud and persistent rumbles of thunder about an hour ago - checked the rain radar and it looked like eastern areas of Sheffield, Rotherham and Doncaster had a nice deluge.

Here in SW Sheffield, not a drop. 

Been up to 28.4C this afternoon and still humid (must have misread the weather forecast!  )
