Title: sweet potatoes
Post by: harry on July 28, 2010, 12:55
I haven't heard anything of the great sweet potato experiment recently. Two of mine are doing really well and i wondered if it was time to have a furtle about in the bag to see if i had any

I think I left mine until well into August last year.

thinking of growing some next year (put off this year by the price of the seed potatoes).  Would be interested to hear how yours did and which seed you bought (and from where!)

The ones doing well are from a sweet potato given to me and allowed to sprout suspended in a jar of water. The ones i bought on the internet are not doing as well. :nowink:

Personally, I won't disturb mine just yet as they really do need a long growing season to develop useful sized tubers. Checked mine the other day and they're doing nicely despite some leaf holes. It's raining again today  :( so no chance to spray leaves with anything. My cuke plants in the same bed are trying to get amorous so I'm keeping them apart  ;)
