but with me persuader (makita sander) and some 'kill em all' aluminium oxide 80 grit sand paper, it buffed up kinda well . . . . . . .

Turn the gate upside down, add a rope pully system, and then trap the b&^$%&s with your portcullis!
-
hmmmm you're giving me ideas now for a drawbridge lol
dunno if i can do a castle n moat out of pallets tho . . . . .
-
That's a seriously good gate, Dave. People pay good money for stuff like that!
I daren't show you my gate. What a state it's in. I won't change it until it drops to bits though, too much real gardening to do (Oooooh! My aching back). :D
-
cheers rob :D
i'm very pleased with it myself, turned out brill' but a lot of that was down to the pallets being near new so the wood was in excellent condition, just needed cobbling together. gonna varnish it once its up just to help it stay that way and its so solid it should last for years.
best is, when i tried to cost it up, even including petrol going to pick the pallets up, screws, hinges, elecy to charge me cordless up, erm, lol, anyway i dont think its cost a tenner lol
-
Great gate Dave! I'm very impressed. I'm just starting to recycle some old planks to create a raised bed for the garden - its a little more slapdash than your marvelous effort!
-
You're a dab hand at the old wood work Dave :D
-
cracking job, thats given me an idea for a pallete i found im my garage.
-
thank you people :D :D
pretty darned chuffed with the result meself lol, fitted it today, gave it one coat of varnish to prolong its life n it dont half look ten times better for just that one coat - it just doesn't look like pallet wood its come up so well lol
so here it is, all finished . . . . . .
