Boring & old hat to most of you, I know - but...........
Today I found a flower on my peas!
(Feltham First)
A beautiful, delicate, white pansy-type flower.
And one day she'll grow into a real pea
I rang all my relatives to tell them  :D

Its great isnt it!

Last year I was telling all my mates when I grew mine for the first time, they looked at me like a lunatic (which is a fair assessment somedays :-) )
"I think the carrot infinitely more fascinating than the geranium. The carrot has mystery. Flowers are essentially tarts. Prostitutes for the bees. There is, you'll agree, a certain je ne sais quoi oh so very special about a firm young carrot" Withnail and I

how many peas (area) are you guys growing as i reckon i have not lanted anywhere near enough to make it worthwhile as you don't get a lot off a pea plant.

They reckon about 1lb of peas per foot of row, that's with about 15 peas spaced evenly in that foot.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Yes, it's exciting, I love seeing them come from seed to this. I plucked off a couple of bigger pods today and munched them ... and couldn't stop grinning at the thoughts of all the rest to come  :D

I'm only growing a few as well, just in the garden, none at the lotty .... but may stick a few more in now as they've come on really fast.

You hit the nail on the head, L-M-P..........it IS all about getting what you can from seed, watching them develop etc.
I picked 4 of my Sutton Dwarfs yesterday.....none of em above 2", but I cooked them and had them for lunch. And felt good all day about that!
Don't expect any obesity from my pea crop, unless I'm heavy with the butter    Dreading to hear what few oz to expect!
