Being very non-teccy I can't help here. On the off-chance my desktop pc freezes when starting up I click on re-start and all is well.
I work very hard so don't expect me to think as well.

Norton comes free with Plusnet, but it does seem to have mucked up everything on the desk-top PC, while this little laptop just gets going as normal!

I used to have AVG here, but if you fit another anti-virus, the two never see eye-to-eye...

I want our old Amstrad 464 back...

Even if it's free, it's bad! Back in the days of Windows XP I used to use AVG, but since W7 Microsofts in built anti virus is perfectly fine unless you're going to the more unsavoury ends of the internet.
If security is a concern, you're much better off using plug-ins for your browser than using 3rd party packages like Norton & McCaffee.

'The Devil's Crown' and 'Harrier attack' were rarely off our screen!

The 'Fruit Machine' was much better than iPad versions too...

There was a great music composer, on which you could write three tracks, and even mix them on screen!

I spent ages typing in another synthesizer programme copied from the red book of new games etc., and a daughter used it in a school project. One day, during computer studies, she was asked to remain out of the classroom for a few minutes, and when she was eventually let in, she found that they'd loaded the music tape she'd prepared onto all the other Amstrads in the class and the noise was deafening!

And that's her job now, training in computer systems, so that was OK wasn't it!

xx
Computer speeds and capacity etc
