Had a hot sunny day yesterday and some of, but not all of, my French beans are brown as if they've been scorched. Day before that they were covered with slugs in rain, so I chucked a load of salt on to get rid. Could the salt have damaged the leaves and made them go brown or is it something else related to the weather? Thanks.

I think it more likely to have been the salt than the weather tbh.  Invest in some slug pellets

Yes, it is the salt. A saturated salt spray was used at one time to scorch off weeds in salt tolerant sugarbeet. It may be still used. Your beans will recover if the growing point has not been killed.

The salt on the leaves combined with the hot weather will have scorched the plant where any salt settled. This method is used for weed control in sugar beet and brassicas, it works best when followed by hot sunny weather.
