Raspberry plants from seed
« on: July 14, 2019, 22:34 »
Question: Has anybody grown raspberries from seed?

The reason I ask is I appear to have this year lots of seedlings!

I have two canes that have sprung up from what I can only imagine sowed by the local bird life, theae are good healthy plants and the raspberry appears to be true to form.

I have now transplanted the seedlings to pots to grow on for next year.

The point is, would the variety grow true from seed? They are bred and then reproduced vegetatively for sale, but if you like the taste - that doesn't matter, does it?  :D
