In the 'front' garden (i.e. the bit visible from the street) I created quite a deep border and planted over 100 gladioli bulbs along the boundry between me and my neighbour (this was in March/April I think)  over the next few weeks they grew quickly to about 1ft high then mysteriously slowed right down, and over the past 4 weeks or so haven't grown at all.  Also, more worrying is that, at the moment, they are all blind.  Do the flower spikes grow later?  Please tell me that they aren't *all* duff!

The Dahlias, which went in at the same time, are rocketing away, and are even starting to flower now!

I thought that Glads were more of an autumn flower.  At least when we used to run a flower show at the church at the beginning of September one lady always turned up with a box of Gladi flower spikes.

I usually don't see glad flowers until later. Not sure how much later as I rarely watch but they'll eventually show up. They do need some water (if its not been raining) and a bit of fertilizer if you want to do show glads.

Casey I wouldn't worry, mine are the same but I think they'll probably have a growth spurt soon after all the rain we've had (along with the weeds!).
