Caring for Geese

This afternoon three 8 week old goslings arrived, courtesy of our farmer neighbour, and we will be taking care of them until the end of the year. I want to make sure that they have the best care we can provide until they are ready for the table, and although we have kept chickens for a few years - geese are new to us. For a start, I didn't expect them to be so big at 8 weeks 

Do any of you have any tips for their care? I'm told that they will mostly graze, but can I allow them to free range as the chucks do, and should we supplement their diet. They've been munching on grass and some old cabbage leaves, and will no doubt acquire a few layers pellets in the near future.

The geese we had didn't like the chickens OR the postman!

But we kept them separate from the chickens.  They can kill them!

   

Gosh, I knew that they could get a bit ferocious, but I've never heard of that.
