I prefer them raw to cucumber as the don't repeat.

They're reliably easy to grow, and you can do a lot with them, sweet and savoury and they're also useful padding to make summer food go further ;)


I agree with you there they are relatively easy to grow and look ok. Maybe I am not trying the right recipes  :)

Will give them a second chance and give the soup a go. Is there a recipe for that here somewhere?

I make a general vegetable soup and just add one chopped.

yesterday

1 beetroot
1 onion
1 courgette
Broad beans or lentils or chick peas for protein.
hand full spinach
fat babies
garlic
tbls ras el hanout or your own blend of spices

sweat onion add other veg and water and simmer till soft wizz up.
