Title: Mole problem
Post by: Stevens706 on May 24, 2010, 07:39
Hi, I’m having problems with moles or voles on the plot, it’s annoying to find a mole hill in the middle of a seed drill. I am thinking of getting a Solar Mole Repeller to frighten them away. Has anyone tried them and do they work or are they just a gimmick?
Any advice would be appreciated - thanks

My neighbour put one in her front garden and it kept the mole away from my garden too , so I would say give it a try or you could look for a local mole catcher ,he would sort them out for a price . They are bad enough in the lawn but I would be fuming if they got amoungst the veg plot.

heh its funny on ours, we have perfect rows of netted covered peas, one day, then a line of mole hills all the way along and no peas the next!

Keep replanting them and it keeps eating them - doesn’t go for anything else at all, just the peas!

Thanks for your replies, I have always been rubbish at growing peas, maybe I now know why. Might get one of the solar repellers and give it a try  - just didn't want to waste my money.

You can get two for just under a tenner in B&Q, I bought some the other day, keep forgetting to take a lighter to the allotment though.
