If you can seal the bottom you could use it as a slim-profile water butt, linked by siphon to something with a bigger volume. I'm doing this with some 6"soil pipe where there isn't room for a blue barrel

Cut it in half lengthways for growing peas before sliding the lot into a prepared trench.        :).     Cheers,    Tony
I may be growing OLD, but I refuse to grow UP !

I was going to say comfrey pipe as well

I have a piece of stench pipe that I used to make mine. It doesn't smell Aunty.  The juice drips into a catcher which in my case is a big pickled onion jar. I made a hole in the top of the lid just big enough to fit a small funnel into. The drips go into the funnel and into the jar.  I keeps rain out as well as it's so snug, and pongs

Once the catcher is full it either goes into the watering can or into a water butt without it coming into contact with my hands  :)

I'm going to keep the tank for when I need the extra space or warmth and maybe just use the lid and lights ... we've had such lovely sun in the daytime that my kitchen windowsill has been nice and warm anyway  ;)

I was surprised just how much stuff there was in the garage that I could use for 'other' things .... I've pinched a riddle out of hubbys fishing tackle as well for compost  :D
