Cold, condensation.

But what the heck - keyword is "free"!

Free sounds great, as long as you don't need to keep anything dry - as hinted at by DD. :)

we have one and have no problem with condensation at all even with 3 hens who have taken to using it for sleeping quarters.

If it's anywhere near your home, heavy rain can be heard quite loudly on it's roof at 2am.............

I'd put up with that when it's free though. :D

We've got a metal shed, the down side is it is cold in winter and hot in summer and no window.
Big advantage it can't be burnt down with your tools in and will last for years with little maintenance.
Don't forget you'll need a good solid base. We used a double layer of 50mm concrete slabs

we have ours on thick treated wood for it's base but there is a 1 inch gap down one side covered by mesh (to stop rats getting in) which is why it probably doesn't suffer with condensation. It is also raised off the ground by about 6 inches by treated planks fixed to the base.

Fasten the metal shed down tight because they make fantastic kites in windy weather.

Do not assume they are vandal proof.  Metal sheds on our lotty site have been prised open - and it's impossible to try to bend the metal back into completely the same place as before.

Too true.
Most of the ""El-Cheapo" metal sheds I've seen you could get into with one of these
