Got a judging appointment next weekend.

This coming Saturday will see yours truly actually judging some of the poultry classes at the Oswestry Show. I've judged four or five times now over the years but I and  always feel a bit nervous and find it an enjoyable responsibility.
I've bought a new judging coat and was disgusted to have to plump for an extra large. :oops:  I'll let you know how I get on, the last time I judged there, some of the exhibits were quite literally crawling, so I was thinking of elastic bands fitted tightly around my shirt cuffs.     All my birds get a quick squirt of insecticide before I take them to a show, whether they have anything on them or not. It can save a lot of embarressment. :oops:  :oops:  :oops: Most judges take one look, pull back in horror, have a quick itch and throw the birds back in the pens without looking at them any further. Its a shame, because its not the birds fault. :shock:

I'm qualified as an equine judge and a Kennel Club judge and you woudl be surprised at what we have to put up with, fleas being the least of it.

Do you have any clout Wighty to speak your mind and tell these horrid people off or not??? :evil:
