Very very excited  Breathe New Shoot breathe :nowink:
New coop just arrived for Alphie, my Serama boy who has been ejected from the main run by his hooligan brother  He's out in the garden inspecting the boxes and we're going to get building in a minute. Wonder if I can train him to hand me nails
Anyway, we'll get it built and painted and then the really exciting bit.............NEW GIRLS!!!!
The eligible batchelor................not quite so pretty these days as has a bit of his comb missing, but I've told him not to worry as it gives his tough guy image a boost ;) I'll get an up to date piccie of him and one of the coop and then we can play which girlies do I get :D :D :D

Lucky Alfie have you asked him what girls he would like :D
-
Well he would quite like Foghorn's girls - the ginger hooligan behind him in the piccie. Think that was what the fight was about ;) Going to have to find him some pretty little hens to get Foggie jelous
-
Lucky boy and lucky you :)

Right - its up and Alphie has inspected the new quarters. He was not much help but very interested ::)

It has had a first coat of wood preservative, so will need another coat. Also going to roof part of the run at least to provide shelter and shade. Working now until Sunday then got next week off so will be able to finish it then :D :D :D

I like how the run roof opens up. So when does he get his laydees? :D
-
Looks very proud in his new home.... just needs to make it his hareem now :)
-
He is a very lucky boy!!!! :D :D

Well I have to finish painting it yet and get a roof on first :) Had to shut him away while I painted or I would have had a sage green Serama - exciting new colour break but not quite right  ::)
Glad you have replied Joy as I wanted to ask you what was best. Get the girls established in here and then introduce Alphie? He will be able to see them from his batchelor pad beforehand as he is right next door.

That is a lovely coop & run.
You must also have very good neighbours who don't mind the early morning alarm call!!! :D
-
I had my girls before introducing a boy and this has always been easy :)
-
Thought that was probably the best option, so thank you for confirming that Joy. He'll just have to chat them up through the wire for a week or two
As for the alarm calls Evansent, we do keep the houses dark as poss so at the mo, the alarm call is around 7.00am. Had a boy before and he kept to this year round so got my fingers crossed with Alphie and Foghorn ;)

Very well behaved boys!!
I had to give my pekin boy away....he went off at 4.00am without fail, even when we blocked out the light!! Such a shame...he was a beauty and really friendly, used to ride about on my son's shoulder.
