Having now got 2x5 wk leghorns, 2x3wk dorkings and the tiny araucanas, I was wanting to put the older chicks together! (littluns way too small) when is the right time for this? asap or leave it till they are alot older?

I tend to go by size CL.
When they look big enough to hold their own and are fully feathered up :D

Thanks Sarah, thought chick to chick introductions would be easier than when I eventually introduce them to my main flock! Did have a little try in the garden pen but the bigger of the leghorns kept trying to peck the dorkings! (sure its a cock!) So put them all back as they were! Will wait till they bigger

Sorry I thought you meant with your older older birds :)
I'd do gradual introductions, leaving them a bit longer each day and see how they get on after a week say :)
I've done Guinea Fowl like that by the end of the week they were all living together under the same broody hen (was quite a squeeze  ) They were 2 weeks apart in age :)

Oh brill! they are in brooders next to one another (looks like a nursey in here!) so they can all see one another, so will keep trying during the daytimes and see what happens x
