Title: Moulting...
Post by: Abacus on June 27, 2012, 13:11
After the longest moulting season that I can remember the girls have finally stopped. At times the run looked like an explosion in a pillow factory  :D

One of my banty's has recently begun her first moult and like yours, the run is full of feathers. How long did it last for? she's looking a bit like all her stuffing is coming out of her!

Sometimes they only have a partial molt so you may not notice apart from them looking slightly scruffy.   :)

I wonder if its just a partial moult that Penny is having as she doesn't seem to be losing feathers anymore. She certainly looks quite scruffy though. She is a black Pekin, who is a bit greyish. when she does have a full moult will she come through a bit blacker or will she stay the same colour?
