Sorry if this has been asked before. Is it ok to cut down my spent lillies that are in pots, or do they need to die back like daffs do. I could do with the pots for surplus plants that i still have in 3ins pots that are flowering. The lillies are 3ft high.

I cut the flower buds of but leave the stems to die back to feed the bulbs,plus sometimes you get a bonus & get little bulbils in the leaf axils to grow lots of new ones. Can you tip them out of the pots you want to use again & repot them into something else?

Thanks Snowdrops, i will leave them. The pot is a large ceramic one. I will tip out my spent freesias out of a smaller plastic one. Think i,m right, do,nt think freesias will come again next year. Please tell me if thats  wrong.

Freesias are a bulb/corm so should come again

Thanks Snowdrops, will put out an extra pot. My front garden is no bigger than a postage stamp and my back is only a tiny yard. So pleased i have an allotment, but like a bit of colour to look at though my window.
