Is it me or do there seem to be a lot less snails about this year after the very hard winter...

They are all in my garden.

Thousands of the little blighters here, and their houseless cousins. Had beetroot and carrots just germinated under cloches, also freshly transplanted sweetpeas and they disappeared overnight. Didn`t bother with the blue death but lesson learned.

Some snails here, mainly tiny as yet. Slugs appearing too more black than brown. Someone (on here) from down south recently said they'd heard about the midges. I still say what midges, come up here and see those black slugs!

They are biding their time until it rains , they will make up for lost time when they do appear.

Don’t panic. They are very slow movers and with lack of SAT Nav they are unlikely to arrive.
