What is eating my strawberries?

It's the sparrows that are eating mine

My fault, but I ran out of netting 

Blackbird is no 1 suspect , you can normally see v shaped beak marks. If the strawbs are hollowed out could be slugs or woodlice which like to live in pots. Mice are also a possibility.

The birds are really clued in to what`s ripe and what`s not. I had my eye on a huge strawb but it was white so i thought i`d wait for it to colour up.
The blackbird didn`t and ate half of it.
I think their sense of smell is much better than we give them credit for.
