New Kittens
« on: July 05, 2010, 21:19 »
I have been a little naughty and kept some new family members from you.

Meet Indiana and Elliot

They are 7 weeks old male monsters. Kia (my dog) absolutely loves them and think they are her babies. They have been trying to get milk from her and she just lies there and takes it. Heres some more pics.

Elliot is the one having a wash and indiana isnt.

Hope you all like
Em

How beautiful (and naughty!)
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

My gorgeous new naughty kittens are obviously settling in as they are starting to scratch the corner of our new furniture. they have 3 scratch posts to choose from and I have showed them where they are but as cars do they like the furniture.

anyone ever used an anti catch scratch furniture spray or have any ideas for me.

thanks

Three things to try that should stop them:

1. Feliway spray where they are scratching;
2. Antiscratch strips from pets at home etc - they are basically sellotape for furniture and use it where they scratch as they don't like the feel or smell;
3. Get furniture protect scratching pads which wrap around the sofa edges - problem is this doesn't train them away but does stop damage until they are big enough to go outside and will have other fun things to scratch at!

They are so cute though, I'd have trouble even telling them off

The other thing that's quite good if there is one place they are really having a go at is Olbas Oil- a drop of that on the wood is a very strong deterrent, and also works well on wood that dogs are damaging.
Plus it lasts a while. But obviously don't use much else you will stink the house out and end up with the risk of it causing irritation!
(keeps your sinuses clear too!!)
Very often quite lost- would be more lost if I could work out where I was!- But always find my way home.....

They are truly lovely....  :)

One of ours took to carving a newel post on a new stairway.. in a very short time she had made some quarter inch wide depressions - the only way to discourage her was to face the timber with plywood until the novelty wore off....

        .........months and months later!  ::)
