im got to attempt this with my own apples but couldnt get hold of any seville oranges for love or money in  the season so will the tin do , ive seen them in asda .
its from an old book i found in a charity shop all to do with apples

yes, the tins are good to use

You could also use sweet oranges.
And for next year when the sevilles are available again. prepare some in the quantity you would need and freeze them.

i was going to do that this year but couldnt find any so i thought i would use the tins . im sure i tryed one years ago .
