Prunus Spinosa
« on: March 28, 2012, 20:13 »
Have I got time to squeeze some in still this year if I do it quick sharpish ?

Looking at http://www.hedgesdirect.co.uk/acatalog/Blackthorn_prunus_hedge.html They seem very reasonably priced and a nice dense thicket of thorns sounds like a very good idea to me.

I would say yes - but only if you can get water to them if the dry weather continues.

My trees arrived today  :D Im run off my feet at the moment and wont have time to do anything with them until the weekend.

Should I ..
Leave them bagged as is?
Open and wrap the roots with wet paper ?
Open and stand in a bucket of water ?
Heal them in?

We're forecast cold, possibly snowy weather for the next couple of days.

Oooh Ta  :D

What is it they say - In the land of the blind, the one eyed man is king  :D

They're soaking in trugs in the utility room - but I may have over bought  :nowink: They look to be really good plants, 3-4 ft each, as thick as my index finger and a good mass of roots,  sent all the way from Ireland too.
