Buy one, you won't regret it :)
I have a Vranja quince tree and would recommend it as a variety. It has lovely white flowers in spring as well as the golden yellow fruits in October. Mine fruited from year 2 and is now 8-10 years old. I keep it pruned so I can reach the fruit and if I am mulching or feeding that bit of garden it gets its share. No special care required at all.
I have had a couple of years where I got nothing, more due to bad weather at flowering time than anything else, other than that it has been problem free. This year it has been loaded with fruit.
Everything I have tried with quince has won me over. Jelly is a favourite, chutney is great, brandy even better and I have also made lemon flavoured quince conserve this year, which has yet to be sampled. Apple pie with quince is also fantastic 8)

buy one from?

I got mine from DT Brown, but that was obviously a while ago.
Hang on a week or so and at least one of the big mail order companies will do a free P&P deal for Black Friday ;)
