Water/food in or out?
« on: April 13, 2011, 17:59 »
I'm a tad confused and pick me girls up this weekend.  The Breeder said it was best to keep the water drinker outside the coop (bedding doesn't get wet) and the feeder inside the coop (feed doesn't get wet).  When i shut them in for the night, they therefore wouldn't have access to water at night.  This may seem a silly question but i know i like a glass of water by my bed at night!  What do you recommend?

water and food should be left outside of coop, they dont need food or water during the night,it may be advisable to remove any food at night to prevent pests ie rats etc

I put the feeder into a container in the outhouse after my girls have gone to bed and the drinker stays out in the covered part of the run. The water for the reasons the breeder said and the feeder for the reason avilla said  :)
