Well out of the seven chicks the neighbour gave me 4 are males.... neighbour (not the one who gave the chicks to me) said we can eat the males, hubby says he is not killing them! Mercedes will do the evil deed for me!
The neighbours insist we do not need a run for the hens, they will be getting one though, can´t have them just in the hen house all day.  We need to wait until we have the rest of the building work done before the fence can be put up for the run, and an orange tree chopped down otherwise they will be escaping into the tree, as it is not very big, over the fence and into the campo At least the hen house will be bigger than the one they are in at the moment and I will make sure it is kept clean.  Neighbours clean theirs out hardly at all and the smell :shock: .............so hopefully in another month the 3 hens (minus the males) will have a lovely house and a run to make life complete.
