Can someone give me some advice on how long I need to keep the new hens in their temporary pen, next to the existing flock in their permanent pen?  Please and thank you!

i would say for around two weeks, its not just so that they can get used to each other, its also to make sure that your new additions are not carrying any diseases, colds Etc, and a two week time frame is normally enough for those things to show up.
