Frames!
« on: July 30, 2021, 13:45 »

One day I'm going to make a meal tray, a serving tray or a picture frame and not have to fill the mitre corners with shim wood or wood glue and sawdust.
Cheers,  Tony.

I have a mitre block, but it don't help!  The cut wanders off anyway,
A few thick coats of varnish ofer the glue and wooddust mix will hide a multitude of sins...

We like a good chinese or Malay meal (we met in Hong Kong care of HMtQ Gawd bless 'er) and I need a sturdy tray to take out all the prepared vegies and assorted sauces to the gas ring outside rather than making multiple trips.

Cheers,  Tony.

A good chum is an artist, and makes his own frames using a purpose-made steel-mounted mitre block, so his corners are perfect!

Like you, my mitre block has had so much use it's very worn, so I tend to make a fuss about a square joint these days...
