yes I will do if Bodger doesnt mind, or if he picks up on this thread before I pm him he may well share his wisdom here. As an update for me I have duly inserted Elder branches in all my mole hills, 23 in total.

Well, well, well. After poking the Elder branches into the holes I can report, as of yesterday......... NO NEW MOLEHILLS. YESSSSSSSSSSSSS. Will keep you updated over the next few weeks, but fingers crossed it looks ok. Great tip  Lacewing, thanks.

My dad has had quite a lot of success by pouring urine down the holes (he had already tried mothballs, special bulbs etc with less success). It may not sound very nice for your veg plot but if you manage to get rid of them before the growing season it won't do any harm and it's supposed to be good fertiliser too!
