Title: Limping
Post by: chickenlicken on April 13, 2009, 18:05
Hi, One of our hens started limping yesterday, we have examined her foot and leg and can't see anything obviously wrong.  The chickens have been out in the garden for a few hours for the last few days and jump up and down off the flower beds etc, could it be she has strained her leg??
She is still limping today and holding her leg up slightly when standing still but otherwise is fine, am guessing it will resolve but any advice welcome???

Kind Regards
Tracey

Hello! one of my girls started limping last year! i had a feel of her leg and the joint where her feathers started was warm and swollen! was advised she had possibly sprained it and to get her to rest! (putting her in a small space ie; cat carrier with food and water where she cant move around too much) took about a week to heal but she fine now! hope this helps  ::)

Thank you!!
I was hoping it might be something like that, I will keep a close eye on her and check each day and hope it will get better on its own.
Thanks for reply
