I've got some Unwins ones. They take about 3 seed potatoes each. Nothing wrong with them, but I also have some plastic pots (I think I bought some trees from a garden centre with them) which are a bit bigger, and take 4 seed potatoes, and I think they worked better last year.

The handles on the bags make them easier to pick up and move. But the tops flop over making watering harder (than the pots)

Marshalls are a respectable company,I would expect then to despatch same-day if they are in stock. If you are in any doubt I suggest order-by-phone so you can double check that.

old dustbin, anything like that? would any suitable size container do?

A dustbin is quite large diameter, and thus quite heavy to tip out etc., but otherwise is fine. Its also very tall - which may mean the tops aren't able to get enough light (or you earth them up 3' or 4' !!)

I amazed by how many people looking for retail products like this never think to ring a Horticultural Distributors and ask if they will sell cash on collection.

Someone like Monro South at Chichester, or BHGS in Worcester, or East Riding Horticulture in Yorkshire will sell you such products (if they carry them in stock) far cheaper than any retail outlet, as long as you pay cash and  collect them yourself. It'll only cost you a phone call to find out.
