I was at a garden centre yesterday and bought an oca plant, I have read up about these and have been interested in trying them for a while, but my question is, would it do ok in a black plastic potato bag?

Yes. ! had 4 in a 40-odd litre bag last year and got something along the lines of 2.2kg of tubers from them. No probs.
