I would just like to ask anyone who has kept Ex battery hens how they rate them to other chickens .I have speckledys ,araucanas & ex batts .My ex batts are by far the friendliest & most cheeky They follow me around like dogs & are always pecking my wellies giving me the "come on mam wheres our mealworms" look

I don't have ex bats but they sound just like all of my hens.

I have had three of them, one was evil! The other two were very friendly and lovely hens.

I had 4, 1 was evil, 2 lovely, & 1 which was top hen so a bit bullish. Think they're bred to be docile but they all have their personalities

i used to keep about 20...i found they ate there own eggs

I had bought forty ex battery hens a few year ago they had very few feathers on them  and at night I had to put them on perches as they could not reach them but after a few weeks when their feathers grew in in they were  the best laying hens I ever bought
