I am going to give this a bash over the winter months. My wife has been buying ready made bags of salad and this is one of the constituents. Is it easy to grow?

Yes, it's easy - but each plant is very small, so you pick the whole plant, and have to sow lots of them for it to be worthwhile.
I usually sow in mid Sept, so you may be a bit late for this year.

Good I should be able to grow some then. I am not really worried about the timing of my sowings because we have very different conditions to those back in the slightly cooler UK. I am going to get some rocket going to mix with this mache  and a little ordinary lettuce should be as good  or should I say better than the stuff my wife is buying!

We have several Lamb's Lettuce in trays in the GH, and about three inches high.

They'll go well with the rocket and the land cress...
