White spots on potatoes??
« on: August 07, 2009, 17:45 »
We found out yesterday that out potatoes have blight - we are newbies so our allotment neighbours told us - we didn't know.  I dug a couple up today to see if anything had happened to them as I'm not quite sure what it is and what it does.  A couple of them had rotted (the ones at the very bottom) but the rest seemed to have loads of little white spots all over them.  They would wipe off but are they safe to eat or is this nothing to do with blight?  I can't remember what name they are but they are pinks - sorry I know I sound really thick.

Any help greatefully received.

They are safe to eat,the rotted ones are probably the seed potatoes you first planted.
