Carmen F1
« on: May 06, 2011, 12:20 »
I was thinking about sowing my Carmen F1 Cukes this afternoon, Im a little nervous at £1.60 a seed.

I've checked the weather, the compost, the propagator and the cleaned the pots. Have I missed anything?

First repayment on the bank loan?  ::)

It's not essential but it's usually recommended to sow the seeds on edge rather than flat as they are less likely to trap water and rot in that position.
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!

One of the best things about being an orang-utan is the fact that you don't lose your good looks as you get older

Only sow as many seeds as you want plants - I'm planning on making my packet of Tiffany F1s (4 for £3.99) last 4 years - this is currently year 2.

Oh and i'll try to remember to restock during the 2013 sales

Im struggling with the greenhouse again - Im finding it really difficult with the huge temperature swings. Last year I cooked all the cukes in there

Funny you should say that, the last Carmen I knew ..... oh wait its a family forum  :D

It was a moment of madness in a T&M sale, after my unpleasant experience with the miniature white ones last year that turned into spiky balls of bitter, repeatingness.

Would Cucumber "carmen" be affected by Botrytis (Grey Mould) ?
