Autum sown broad beans.  Have a soft spot for them as they were my first ever crop when the rest of my plot was just mud and weeds!  Also, just as the blackfly attack, they have finished and you chuck them on to the compost bin.

Are you putting in some over wintering broad beans?

I thought I'd have a go at those Aquawhatsit ones.....although last year my neighbour had them growing beautifully but my spring sown BBs out performed them. I think the hefty winds didn't do the autumn sown ones any good so mine caught up.

That's the trouble with living by the sea isn't it. The winds get a bit strong 
I've found that the spring sown ones catch up, so don't bother with autumn sown ones either.
