Post by: John on August 09, 2019, 20:18
I had this email from Tom asking for help identifying these roots growing in his plot. Any help welcome!

Are there any trees or hedges around the plot? When I had veg beds in the garden there was always a layer of roots under the beds, despite me digging them out each winter, they'd always be back fairly quickly. That's why the beds always needed watering.
That didn't stop until I had the enormous tree on the boundary cut down.

I have similar in my garden.
there was a big ash tree about 10 meters away which has now split.
will see how it will be when I do some digging.
