should I be worming?
« on: August 01, 2011, 11:03 »
advice would be greatly appreciated.
one a week I add a clove of garlic to the water for just one day. clean water every day!
once a week I add a capful of cider vinegar to the water. clean water every day!
I use a poultry disinfectant and red mite powder in the coop, the nest boxes are also powdered.
yesterday i powdered my ladies for the first time too!
should i be worming them? If so, how often? what are the symtoms of them having worms?
what to use?
is there anything else i should be doing?
my ladies appear healthy to me, they free range daily, their combs are red (i've read on here that is something to notice!) they're laying an egg each, daily. their poop seems normal.

I know I'll become addicted, i'll just have to move house...
It starts with 3!!! (june 19 2011)

yes you should be - worm them 3 or 4 times a year with flubenvet. This is available from vets or via the internet (shop around as prices do vary). It is proven to work (unlike some organic preventatives) and is licensed for poultry. You can still eat the eggs whilst they are on the week long course  :)
Staffies are softer than you think.
