They are three weeks old now, watching Mums every move and learning all the time.  Not much chance of catching them as she has taught them well.  So when she defends them I catch her knowing that the chicks will follow.   8)

2 boys, 3 girls and one I am unsure of.  I have put blue leg rings on the 2 boys and a gold on the ? one.  The 2 boys are a lot more adventurous when they are freeranging so I am hoping the ? is another girl.   :)

Have told hubby I am only keeping one Welsummer Bantam and one Light Sussex Bantam chick but it will be really hard to choose.  I am crossing my fingers for also keeping one of Welsummer Bantam boys but that will depend on how noisy they are and how understanding the neighbours are.

My neighbours and family already buy all the hens and quail eggs (usually none left for us)!  It would be the neighbours that back onto ours that I would think wouldn't be so understanding.  Will just have to see how things go.

As fast as Bessies puppies Thrift, ahh they are not babies for very long.  Making the most of them while they are still cute and cheeping rather than squawking or even crowing!
