Hi,

Can someone please tell me if rolawn topsoil a good all round soil for laying a lawn and also for growing flowers / plants etc?

If it is, does anyone know how much I should be paying for 5 bulk bags as i've seen it online advertised for less than £90 a bag - so about £470 including delivery?

Thanks

Colin

We have bought from Rolawn several times to lay turf, make raised beds and fill a border.  The quality really is excellent and though it is expensive I think it was worth it.  We had previously bought graded top soil from local suppliers and had very mixed supplies (some full of weed seed and some full of stones!)
3 dogs, 8 chickens, 4 rabbits 2 guinea pigs, 10 quail, 2 fish and a demanding daughter who has gone to uni and left me with 29 animals to care for!!=)

Thanks - sounds like you get what you pay for then! Do you know if that's a good price or not?

we bought from rolawn direct on line and it was a similar price last year, as far as I know they dont seem to reduce the price (I look from time to time as we could do with more)  Be aware that five large bags seems a huge amount but it doesn't go that far (we had two deliveries as I underestimated how much we needed- it was to create 9 raised beds, put under a lawn and top up borders

Thanks again - Seems to be about £550 direct from Rolawn to where I am so I think i'll go with the cheaper option. Looks like they use crane delivery too, so hopefully will be able to lift it straight over into my back garden. Will let you know how I get on!

Crane option would help, ours came in those huge sacks and we had to barrow it round!

Ordered on Tuesday and came Friday as requested - crane dropped over fence into back garden no problem either! Quality is great too - much better than other cheaper stuff i've had in the past....
